My only real comment for the ladies would be dress appropriately for your body size and shape. Just because you can squeeze yourself into something doesn't mean you should wear it.
The frumpy hipster look is atrocious...the hip hugging mom jean thing...is pretty awful....as well as the leggings that look like jeans...

What about pirate wear?
Nothing gets me hotter than a peg leg.

Makes sense. Thanks for your insight
I will say that ladies fashion has gotten much better in the last 10 years especially at shows. I can't count how many times i had to convince myself that the girl in the patchwork dress actually looked good and it wasn't just the booze talking.

The powers that be want you as distracted as possible. Sensationalist media is one of the better ways to capture a nations attention. I'd tell you More but I am busy reading about the taping of season three, the walking dead.....great show
800k iraquis die and you hear the media gloat victory....democracy is infalllible. One kid gets shot (and it's extremely sad trust me) and you have a media freNzy for weeks. That's strange to me
Professor, whats another name for pirate treasure?

Thank you for seeing what I was trying to say in the first post I made. Bless your soul.
What is Booty, Alex?
Trust me, I had plenty of fun with the pirate puns afterwards.

I quit watching CNN quite a while ago. The only TV news program I watch these days is 60 Minutes. Sometimes other specials like Frontline or 20/20.
Other than that, I try to read stuff like the New York Times, Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, and listen to a lot of NPR programs. Been doing a lot of podcasts lately. I just put 10-15 episodes of This American Life on my iPod, and have gone through a lot of radiolab episodes recently. I'm also a fiend for the best of Mike and Mike =)

And since we're somewhat on the topic of news media/journalism, here is one of my favorite feature articles ever written. Warning: It's very heavy stuff. But I think everyone should know about it. It's about the the second most deadly act of 'official' terrorism behind 9/11, the hostage school crisis in Chechnya, Russia:

I knew where you were coming from.
For the record I have no stance on the case. I've purposely learned as little as possible, but whether it was self defense or not.... Justice is supposed to be served by the police forces, not the media. They will drag this thing out as long as they possibly can, not because they want to see justice served but because they want to captivate people. After the buzz dies down, it'll probably be time to talk about lebrons new favorite flavor of chewing gum or perhaps get updates about how Demi Moore is huffing gas again now that she's out of rehab. Sensationalist stories and non sense is what the media reports. We hear very little about the things that matter (and what we can control for that matter) the most. Don't get me wrong....this story is sad. It's possible innocent life was lost. Justice should be served but again.... If the police are too inept to serve justice on their own, I don't think it's the medias job to talk about this for the next month avoiding other stories that all Americans should know about.

I'm completely aware that I find some baggier clothes attractive on a woman because it may not show a less than ideal figure... leave something to my imagination.
but by all means emphasize the nicer areas.

the easy solution is not to watch main stream media
A Rick is a dude.. There are a few I know who all call each other Ricky.. A Rick is short for that, and shorter than saying "my platonic male friend"
Hey Ricky, what er yinz doing tonight?
In this case, his pt handle also includes the name "Ricky"
If you're lurking, hey Phil

lol, not quite. i stuck with the original material instead of the reference.
Blanks- Agreed, but the media should have its part in exposing corruption. That is one thing its inteded to do.
