Chris Dodd Thinks Anti-SOPA/PIPA Websites Are Abusing Their Power
" It is an irresponsible response and a disservice to people who relyon them for information and use their services. It is also an abuse of power given the freedoms these companies enjoy in the marketplace today. It’s a dangerous and troubling development when the platforms that serve as gateways to information intentionally skew the facts to incite their users in order to further their corporate interests."

I had no idea he was the CEO of the MPAA until yesterday.
Go figure that the head of the MPAA would support a bill written by the MPAA?
Mindblower for certain.
Mindblower for certain.

Is there really evidence of him being a corrupt lobbyist or just a lobbyist? I mean, the MPAA has a constitutional right to be heard, correct? I don't agree with the bills, but that does not mean Dodd is being corrupt here.
Would you support a bill prohibiting elected officials from lobbying for a specific period of time after leaving office?

So you acknowledge that this is basically a corporate attempt at hijacking the internet, but you trust the intentions of these people?
If it were up ot him their messages would be erased from the internet!

Are you always turned up to 11?
I don't think it's about "hijacking the internet," but I also don't get my news from opinion. I think that SOPA and PIPA are misguided attempts to enforce outdated copyright laws. The intent (seeing that people get paid for their work) is of course good. I have issues with the method and results, which I think would do far more harm than good. I see nothing "evil" in the MPAA looking out for their own members.

You're right, it's all about hijacking and evil people. Thank god we have you to show us the light.

Lately, yes. There is an assault on America right now and it's coming from our own politicians. Meanwhile, people are so dumbed down that they continue to give these shitheads the benefit of the doubt no matter what they do. I'm shocked at how apathetic the majority of Americans still are despite legislation like the NDAA and SOPA...

See, I actually agree 100% with this statement. I just don't think the people supporting said bills are doing so out of malice or hatred toward America. I sincerely believe that they sincerely believe they are doing the right thing. I just think they are wrong.
He's just trying to cement his legacy - the man almost entirely responsible for destroying the American economy and its last bastion of productivity - the internet.
Dodd-Frank is an abortion of a bill that did nothing
hilarious Dodd ran away to Lobby for MPAA

right, they are doing what THEY think is right, not listening to what the US citizens want which IS the right thing. the lastest poll said 85% disagree with what congress is doing. at what point do we as citizens throw those old fuckers out and get people in there who will listen and do what we want?
