I'm currently on a plan that allows me only 450 minutes, unlimited texting and unlimited data. I pay about $90 a month for service and have the Droid 3. I want to bump up my minutes, but it seems this is going to be an extra $20? Is this something I should maybe go into a Verizon store and negotiate, or is this price real firm.
looking for people who have more than 450 talk minutes + unlimited everything else and what they pay.
thanks

It's firm, I have the 900 minutes, which is the next level up, and I get 5 non verizon numbers that I get unlimited calling to. However, since they no longer offer unlimited data, you will lose that when you change plans.
The prices are pretty firm. I've never had luck negotiating
up until last week, i haven't really needed minutes. i use anywhere from 5 - 20 gb of data a month (lol), so it seems like a decent compromise for me

A: find a friend and get on a shared plan.

i think that the data plan you are grandfathered in. so when your plan changes you can keep your data plan
im calling now.

How do you use so much data? I've been trying like hell, but still can't seem to break 2 gb/month

Listen to Pandora all day..........YOU'LL USE A TON OF DATA
oh yeah, i use soundcloud and youtube a lot.
For the life of me I don't know why good friends don't pool together under Family Plans. Save so much coin. Just be responsible with use.

How would I save money splitting my minutes in half?
If you have unlimited data and text, it would make sense to set up a Google Voice phone # that uses only a data connection. Or set up something like Skype to make calls. The unlimited data is what you want to keep in the long run.
