Well, after 3 volumes I thought I was 'finished', but several people have been encouraging me to continue this project over the last year. Lots of great stuff to be found here - after Jerry's coma, the boys were in fine form for these years, leading up to the latter-day peak of '89/'90. I'm especially fond of this era because of the many, many nights I spent on tour these years.

Going thru all of this music reinforced a basic truth for me: there is something to love - even if it's just a moment - in every single GD concert, no matter what the year or who was there.

HUGE thanks for this go out to my pal Chris Larson, who supplied several of these tracks; my musical benefactor, Neal@TheWheel, who has given me more GD music than I can fully appreciate; and to everyone who has encourged me to continue this. More volumes will follow, dating back to Brent's joining the band.



Notes:

First, all tracks (42 to start with) were EAC'd from my audio discs, or converted directly from SHN or FLAC. I played around with the order of the tracks until I found transitions I thought would be manageable. Volumes were all over the map, so I normalized them and blended the tracks. Some tracks had a little cut off the end (you'll notice that many are leading into Drumz~) and I generally applied a cross-fade of 2 to 4 seconds. For some I used a mixng technique to blend the next track into the previous. Track 1 was a freestanding jam, following a song break, so it made a good entry point. Track 28 was a natural closer. I enhanced the ending just a bit to give it a little more weight in closing the disc.
