I guess I didn't expect Blight to come out of the 5 gallon bucket encore...

Only managed to score sunday night but had a blast. Got on the floor 3 rows back. Super sick. Didn't feel too crowded, beer lines were fine, tabby looked cool, and of course the music was great.Don't understand the hate. I also enjoyed myself at the T4T there a few years back.

Pissed I missed many rivers, I love that song. Would have ripped my shirt off and poured beer over my head for that one.

Imitation sounded legit, almost as if they were plugged in. I really wanted a TYS or Barstools to see how funky things could get.

my opinion is that i'm confused on how many people apparently had never heard many rivers to cross.

it's a brilliant fucking song and i did a fucking triple take when i read the setlist. would've loved to have seen it.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^I never said it wasn't a brilliant song. I just said I didn't recognize it when they played it. Im not a huge Jimmy Cliff fan, and I've seen The Harder They Come, but I guess it never resonated or something...So sorry I'm not as HEADY as you are, bruh...Go to Denver, They'll probably bring it back out

Sorry to just getting around to it.. Here is my very biased opinion.

I had tix for the entire first leg of Wood Tour before Mexico but was unable to get away from work in time Monday to make it to DC for the opener Tuesday night. After driving all day and night I make it into town as just as the were shutting it down Tuesday night. Had 18 hrs to rest up for Wednesday's show and I did. Went in with zero expectations as I hadn't streamed the opener since I was traveling. First trip to the Fillmore and wasn't too impressed with the venue itself. Found a spot Schools side rail and settled on in for the night.

I hadn't see the guys since 10/29/11 so needless to say the preshow jitters were in full effect. When they walked out all track of thought was lost for about 3 hours as I was focused on the music 100%. Ain't Life Grand opener seemed obviously appropriate and was executed very well & crisp. Then into Blue Indian & Coach, I like coach because I love to hear Todd sing and it resonated well with the passing of his stepfather on 12/30. It's a special song for Todd and is appreciated by me at anytime. Ride Me High > C Brown is a nice combo of tunes I again welcome. RMH was one sing that I hadn't given much thought acoustically but it translated well, IMO. Party @ Your Mom's was blissfully intricate and it transitioned well into Stop Breaking Down. Then into Jack which was perfect. Smiling from ear to ear as JB closed Jack down the MSTM was obviously the set closer so I blazed a joint and got my mind right for setbreak/second set.

The crowd at the Fillmore was good but not very into what was going down on stage but it seemed to that the energy was lacking a bit. After a brief setbreak, the guys came back out and opener with LGTSOTR. Couldn't help but get caught up with emotion of this tune so I did shed a tear. So, I blazed another joint. Perfect set opener, IMO. They then went into a stretch of tunes that aren't particularly my favorite, Shut Up & Drive, Tickle & Cotton Was King. I enjoy Shut Up & Drive but the latter just aren't my fav's. They were executed well and well received by the crowd. Wrangler was a tune I was looking forward to hearing during this tour so o was super excited to hear where it would go. After a nice Wrangler Jam they began DBD which was great. Airplane > Take Off next and this along with the set opener were the highlights of the night, for me. Amazing does not sum it up well enough but you get the picture. Not being the biggest Beetles/Lenon fan I did not recognize Ballad of John & Loko but it again it was well received by those in attendance. Mercy was played very well and then into a blistering take on the classic staple ILS. Quite possibly one of my favorite versions of the tune.

The encore was stellar, as well. Hearing JB belt out Trouble would have been worth the 1200 mile drive alone. Are You Ready For the Country seemed appropriate for the closer as I thought it was the last tune of the night. As they begin Climb To Safety I realized that they fooled me again, which was great. After the show I hung around the venue and went over on Jimmy's side to take a closer look at Jojo's rig as I was most impressed with his sound. I thought Jojo sounded phenomenal on the Harmonium & pump organ. Such a different element to compliment my favorite songs. Only complaint is that I wish his back was facing the crowd while using the pump organ as it would have allowed us to see the movement of his feet on the instrument.

Had a blast in Silver Spring & met some awesome folks. My first night of Wood Tour gave me the motivation I needed to make my trek down to Atlanta for what would turn out to be my favorite 3 night run I've ever attended.

These will come in chapters so stay tuned if you want to read my take on the Tabernacle. If you don't, well, that's cool too.

ATL was beyond epic.......acoustic panic is just so sublimely psychedelic that there aren't really words for it.

That Jack had tears in my eyes, as did C. Brown!

Friend hooked me up with a Sunday tic while I was at a wedding in Nawlins. Made it back in time (of course).

I'm surprised Ballad of John & Yoko isn't praised more? They simply dominate that. The Tabernacle eats people. Wood Tour wins more than Charlie Sheen ever did.

Aspen is the motherland, huh? I wasn't aware of that. Bigbed, I'll actually be in Aspen. We should meet. I'll only be rolling with a crew of my wife and micelf unlike yourself with 74 heady peeps.

I'll look for a chevy van full of retarded 18yo's. How many tanks did your breh's run at festies this past summer so your crew could 'afford' Aspen?

Very psyched to see Many Rivers to Cross. JB nailed it IIRC.

I had front row tickets to see Jimmy Cliff and Peter Tosh at the Fox Theater in Atl in the early 80's but the show was canceled. Very bummed I did not get to see these legends on stage. I was too young to have seen Bob. I really haven't seen much reggae live but I really dig listening to it.
