No offense but that is 100% totally wrong. Kids need to know about what is going on that means being exposed to other ideas. the scene whatever. They need to know that there is something else out there. A place where cretive people can make something happen with their lives outside of the >School>Career>never retire paradigm that is drilled into their heads 24 hours a day..
And if your kids are not exposed to people "Scenestering" whatever that may entail, then they are more likely to believe the Mantra preached to them everyday about "Scenstering".... And they will (TRUST ME ON THIS ONE) find out that you have been "scenstering" and POOF, after that everything will change.
I kept my kids away from festivals and all that due to "Scenstering" and guess fucking what? They are addicts. Not one of them even smoked pot before they were 18. OR been around it much. I hid that shit and remember the day when "They found out".
Now the kids that I was around in my other relationships, well they came with us. On dead tour. Those girls would rake the bucks. I always had a gig for them to do (Cups at no glass venues) and they learned that there is other stuff out there. They were around creative people and watching people create and that opened doors for them.
My kids never were around that.
Telluride or string summit hands down
As some others have said, Delfest is the least sketchy festival I've gone to...
No commerce, hardly any stupid high kids, and alot of family sentiment amongst the organizers: would definitely be the first place that popped into my mind if I had a little one to consider...

The festy is literally exactly what you are looking for, its in october though. Infamous stringduster festival, this year they had railroad earth toubab krewe rubblebucket, it was 100% safe, barely any drugs hardly even saw people smoking weed, lots of families
