Excuse me for paying attention to the whats happening on stage when I pay $50 to go to a show. Do you just see shows as an excuse to get fucked up or what?
I loved your review lazy_bird that was a blast to read and helped me remember so many of the little interesting things I had forgotten in the last couple days. The highlights for me were
thrusday: miss browns>chameleon>rum n' zouc. Kang was flying on rum
Friday: Water may have been standard but I love this song and paired with the theme of the evening it really got me going. I absolutely loved black clouds. Some have called this version botched but the chaotic and staccatto moments were very interesting and showed that cheese does have jams that reach outside normal chord progressions and dance beats.
Saturday
I also missed the first 2 songs which was a bummer since rollover opener always means theres gonna be a ton of energy. The first set ending with bollymunster>roll was fun but left alot to be desired. Kyle was playing greaty but I do remember a long string of songs where he was playing the organ and it got a touch tiring. I was not a fan of either cover in second set but land end and most all the jams second set were fire. Doing 2 encores again on Saturday was a treat.
Amazing run you could tell that even though they're not playing a ton of dates they have been practicing their asses off and even the new songs that they didn't jam much during were still so tight and polished, I can't wait to see their evolution. Thanks to all the beautiful people I had the pleasure of meeting for circulating those good vibes.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write a review. Wish more people would do it.
Great review. Really captured how I too felt at the shows.

coming from the guy that has seen almost 90 percent of his shows in the last 2 years?
I personally had an absolute ball this past weekend. staying at the cliff house lodge in morrison was also great fun as well.

No seriously, thanks for writing a review at all.

Red Rocks playing now at www.freshjamradio.com
I also want to add my voice to those that appreciate your thorough review. Having not been there and reading the evolution of your thoughts from Friday to Sunday got me pretty excited for Horning's!
Please keep up the great work and try to ignore the trolls.

i wasn't there the first night but had a blast friday and saturday. i hadn't seen them in a while, so i tried to go into the shows with no expectations and just enjoy myself.
there were definitely times when i wasn't that impressed, but overall, good times were had. and it seemed everyone there was having fun too, including the band. thats all i was looking for. fuck all the haters.

Mmmmmm. I'd have to say the 2010 shows overall were better, but I had a blast this yr. and saw a lot of songs I wanted! (hadn't seen a RN'Z since the Ogden and had never seen and EWR). Will be the only 3 night run I do all summer. If they are doing Broomfield NYE, I'll be at all of those just as excited!!
Lights are fantastic right now though!! the lights are way better than 2010.
stage setup was definitely sweet
