Melo is an idiot for wanting to confront the guy that just insulted his wife? I guess that would make most people 'idiots'. The only idiot here is KG for taking cheap shots on the wrong dude. 1) it was an insult, it's not like KG tried to grope her or verbally abused her.
2) it was on court trash talk, this honey nut cheerios remark is childs play compared to what i've heard Reggie miller, jordan, etc... had said in the past.
3) KG claims all his trash talk was basketball related.
you really think run of the mill trash talk is what made melo want some words with him after the game? c'mon now. obviously KG crossed a line.
Whether it was basketball related or not, who cares? You're a professional athlete, be mature enough (I know, we're talking about the NBA here) to take trash talk and leave it on the court.

looks like you ignored points 1 and 2.
i put them first for a reason.
if melo gets to "say" he was just waiting by the bus to talk, then KG gets to "say" he was doing only basketball talk.

Like I said, this is a perfect example of NHL > NBA.
i'm not at all violent person or a tough guy, but if someone said that about my wife it's one of the rare situations where i think they'd have a chance to either apologize or catch an ass beating. you don't talk about someone's wife or children because it's low. just like Rick James, KG is a habitual line stepper

like i said, you can't just let melo off the hook and say "he just wanted to talk" by the bus, and then hold KG accountable when he claims it was just b-ball trash talk.
you, as an innocent bystander with no ACTUAL knowledge, need to hold them both to the same standard.
you have to either believe or not believe them both.
just saw a video of the confrontation. I don't have any sound but it looks like they yell at each other for a while and then i'm sure KG says something like "hold me back, somebody hold me back" and they get seperated, lol. If either one wanted to throw down it could have easily happened they were 2 feet from each other.
Point is KG likes to act like a tough guy picking on players like villanueva and duncan who he knows won't fight back, taking cheap shots about people's family members. Even Villanueva called him soft, you know you're bitch made when that happens.
On the plus side- knicks celtics rivalry seems to have been rejuvinated, that was an intense game. can't wait to play later on in the season at full strength
