I think Puebla is the best song on LALA'a, followed by Suck a Lemon and Haze. Not sure why Lazarus is on there since it's a much older song and it's an odd version imo. Still like it tho.

Puebla at the NYC CD release party was insane, best tune of the night.

^hah, I don't think one person agreed with OP.

Puebla for the win!

I liked Puebla from the get go. but when they played it this new way at moe.down I automatically thought, damn...this is exactly what this song needed. A strong ending section like that. It was killer, still is.

I like the older versions of Puebla with the dueling guitar line, as mentioned previously...
but I have to say, (hvnt heard the La Las yet) live, the reworking was really strong. If I hadn't heard previous versions, I wouldn't say the song came up lacking. It's a very moe.-sounding song, with spaciness and rock.

both versions work for me. I like the trippier shit, as I always talk about. This song is no exception and losing that section took a little away, imo.

I am excited to hear the studio version though

non-puebla stuff:

I thought that Lazarus sounds great from the album clip i heard online. I don't get the hate on that one... did everyone expect a 30 minute studio blowout or something?
or is there a distinct difference live, where they sometimes do a short version and sometimes the normal one?

Consider me a puebla fluffer

so far from what I have seen, moe. is they are playing Lazarus, starting it off like we are all used to and then playing an extended live version of the Bones of Lazarus. it has the rickey jam part, the akimbo jam is gone, but they play it just like you are used to seeing it.

It's definitely the new version of the song but it's not as wimpy as the studio version.

spam/rob, the new version is chuck solely soloing over what al is putting down, it crescendos not unlike Bullet, it was definately what elevated that song from previous potential, and I appproved highly.

also, sorry, normally you are on top of music and I respect your opine, but Lazarus skeletal remains BLOWS!!!!! forget the akimbo jam removed, the studio one is sterile stiff, it doesnt get a chance to breathe @ all, it sounds rushed and hurried, it lost it's DNA, it sucks,. as far as I am concerned what happened to the lalas is one song short, i tuned in from track two onwards. it's horrifyingly a wasted effort in the studio, and ruined a great song in laz. I used to champion them bringing laz back from the grave, now I am searching for dr. van helsing to kill this sumbitch and cremate it back to the grave.
:)

Seriously, Lazarus is dying a slow and painful death, someone put it out of its misery already.

That or just play it like you used to moe.!
