Yeah, I got fucked. I'm the second incorrect answer to rowe vs. wade or whatever. I mean let's get serious. I'm a graduating college student who answered all of the question correctly except that one and what state is John McCain from. That shit was slandered as fuck. It was kinda funny seein myself on that shit though. The funnier part is that right after I watched it I asked the like ten people sitting around me if they new what that case was and only one person knew it. Fuck the editor of that clip.

I mean Roe v. Wade was actually about a Constitutionally guaranteed right to privacy, but, whatever. The abortion debate is related, but you don't necessarily have to understand the decision of that case to have an opinion about it, I don't think.

Damn it...too much support for my idea..I should have kept that on the down low. There goes my million dollar idea, I guess I'll take one for the country.

But, who is responsible for making sure the youth know these facts?

I mean, ideally, each person should be responsible for their own knowledge once they hit a certain age....

However, if your parents or your teachers (ie NOT THE YOUTH) never pushed these issues as being important in your life.... then whose fault is it? I mean it's soooo easy to sit around and bitch about younger generations (I, too, have been guilty of bashing the generations underneath myself, and I am only 24!) but in the end, the older generations need to take at least some of the responsibility for the ways that the country's youth acts. Leading by example, expecting the youth to know certain things, and teaching them the importance of these things is CRUCIAL.

Thanks for that link Hayduke....I think for the general public the first part needs to be dumbed down a little, but the two sections is exactly what should be available in voter booths.

My results:
1. McKinney
2. Nadar
3. Obama

and yeah, chemicalwar, i agree this report is laughable, of course they skewed it to what they already were trying to prove. however, you should know at least the effect that roe v. wade has had on the abortion discussion, it's been in the news quite frequently most of the elections since it's been passed.

to be fair, spunions at camp aren't the only ones who are morons, i asked a couple of people i worked with a year or two ago some of the questions that are on the immigrant exam to become a citizen, and they couldn't even answer those, questions like, what country is borders the u.s. to the south?

i got the following two answers; puerto rico and florida.

Interesting, and it makes me feel good about my vote. I would love to vote independent if this wasn't such a crucial time.

well i'll be damned.

mckinney...obama...nader

does this mean i'm like...a hippie or something...?

"The sad thing is the stupid people are going to decide this election... as always."

actually, what's even more sad is that the majority of the country is stupid, and seem to praise stupid candidates...it's embarrassing to think that at some point, our country began to value candidates' likeability and relatability over competence and intelligence.

"The sad thing is the stupid people are going to decide this election... as always."

Ok, it's important to realize that "stupid" can mean a myriad of different things, depending on who you are asking...

Also, if the so-called "smart" people keep making our decisions for us (i.e. the rich white men in office with Ivy-League degrees who, by the way, probably have NO concept of what the average American's life is like) such as the electoral college, or law/bill passing... well... where has that gotten us thus far?? Really. We are in a seemingly unresolvable war, we are so far in debt that I don't think I even know how many zero's can be placed in the actual number, and we are running dangerously on the edge of being at the mercy of other countries, as our dollar is plummeting downwards.

So far, I have no reason to trust these "smart people's" decisions. They can't even run an election smoothly, as we have seen in the past TWO elections!

Wow I know the first kid to tank on Roe Vs Wade... Pretty sure he majors in History too, ouch.
» supaspoida Thu Oct 09, 2008 02:31 PM Process-stop Flag_blue Delete_user Mail-reply-sender Ip Quote
I'm more worried about fraud & security than stupid people voting honestly. Doesn't matter how smart you are if your vote just gets flipped to the other guy anyways!
» rucalove12 Thu Oct 09, 2008 02:35 PM Process-stop Flag_blue Delete_user Mail-reply-sender Ip Quote
True that, Lar!

Maybe some of us stooped peepul should watch over their shoulders! Make sure their higher intelligence doesn't cloud their ability to properly tally our votes, while they daydream about Roe vs. Wade and brush up on their government stats.

I think it's great what HeadCount is doing to get younger people registered to vote. Election after election, far too many young people don't vote and then go ahead and bitch about our president. I'm sick of it. In the 2004 election, "those between the ages of 18 and 24 had the lowest, with 47 percent reported going to the polls." -thePost That's terrible! "A little more than 73 percent of those between 65 and 74 said they voted, the highest rate for any age group." Elderly people that can fucking hardly walk are nearly doubling our headcount! You can take off work and you can take off school to vote. There's no excuse not to vote.

If We all went out and voted, then we could finally represent ourselves and dictate where our country is headed.

Vote. Vote. Vote.
