Not TOO much useful info really...
but some interesting things:
There is a State object for every state except Hawaii.
In phish.teaser.TeaserModel.as there is this:
private function init() : void
{
_rippleArray = ["save", "festival", "ten"];
_deadStates = ["ID", "NH", "WV", "OK", "NC", "WI", "WA", "KS", "OH", "WY", "IL", "PA", "OR", "VA", "TN", "KY", "SD", "ND", "NE"];
_destroyer = "balloons";
return;
}// end function
So if in the next flash thing CA is in the deadStates array. we'll know it is dead
Here a zip file with all the resources in it if you want to check some of the code out

well i guess the fact that ballons are called a destroyer might mean something.. i'm i'm not sure but i think once the animation runs it calls a function called killState()
good work ty
"So if in the next flash thing CA is in the deadStates array. we'll know it is dead"
deadStates just means that it's black, doesn't mean that the fest isn't there.
deadStates just means that it's black, doesn't mean that the fest isn't there.
...so it's going to be in PA?
yeah that is true. All the deadStates array is to blackout the states at the start of the animation
My god. How ridiculous is all of this?
Who knew all of this was going to create a community of Flash philosophers.

killState is pretty obvious to me.
Maybe you would have liked the function to be called:
SuspendStateInHopesPhannersDontLoseDeposits(_deadstates["ca"])
Maybe you would have liked the function to be called:
SuspendStateInHopesPhannersDontLoseDeposits(_deadstates["ca"])
In the previous code that mr_wonderful had pulled down there was a "Teaser_fla" sub directory that it looked like they were manually adding states to. In the form of ActionScript files.
"killState is pretty obvious to me.

SuspendStateInHopesPhannersDontLoseDeposits(_deadstates["ca" ])"
Too funny

Anywho, after reviewing the code, without a doubt, CA will be disappearing in the next animation release.

i'm also curious about in the HTML/JS that it gets the flash file with a variable name as well
swfobject.embedSWF("Teaser.swf?1106" ... )
1106!?
has it always been that number?

LOL.. yup. Pretty good stuff in here.
"yup" was not directed at the 1106-question.

This is the first I've commented on this but I have to agree with this sentiment. Now, I'm a SoCal resident and would LOVE for the festie to be anywhere in the southwest. That being said, I'm not getting my hopes up or cancelling my hotel reservation until they officially announce it. That is all.

the person who is doing the animation, flash, coding doesn't give a shit if the fest is in Ohio or in your moms ass. The people probably never heard of phish let alone fans. My point is what they call each function (dead state) (kill state) they could of just as easily called it "cunty states" "yankees suck states" They gave it those names it make it easier for them and make everything cohesive.
If this friggin thing is in Hawaii.......

Has it been addressed that in the original alien animation that was accidentaly leaked NV is zapped along with TN? As we know NV is still there and TN was pulled off by the ship (or blown away by God..forgot) Wha happened??

My question is mainly directed at mr_wonderful since he was the original one to discover the hidden animations.
