the first step towards taping being over with right there. interesting considering we were discussing it last night while listening to the stream.

if people keep running feeds from the tapers section it's only a matter of time til they shut the whole thing down and taping is no longer allowed.

this is the exact reason people didn't let patches go to streamers til very recently.

Yea, I knew this would happen when tapers were openly stating they were streaming from their rig in the tapers section.

Anybody who knows a taper, tell them to stop patching and/or streaming. I don't wanna pay $13 a pop for every lossless Phish show from now on.

I doubt they lack the legal rights as much as they're currently not defined. I doubt it's in many (or any) contracts with Live Nation, TM, or the venues involved. The only time you see official streaming is with festivals or special events.

I think it's just a cover until they can figure out a way to monetize it themselves. Congratulations, streamers, you've been noticed/heard. Phish might as well be the first band to do this.

I seriously doubt Phish would ever stop taping. If you don't think they make bucketloads off LivePhish (not to mention all other merch...) you're a damn fool.

yes obviouswly, but it's the first step towards what could be a bigger issue if the streams from the section continue.

and trust me they'll police it. folks forget how bad the foh crew got about fob tapers back in the mid 90's. and that was simply tapers running up front. some good tapers were blacklisted for good by phish inc. for tapers tix cause of getting caught up front.

you add in the fact this becomes an ascap issue like referenced above and they'll put the clamp down if it gets to out of control very quick.

I hope not, but as i've explained before on here, this is why you had shitty streams for so the last couple tours and tapers didn't patch feeds. now that it's been done...it's a slippery slope that could end up bad very quick.

Its cool how phish is on the cutting edge of how concerts are enjoyed through technology by its fanbase. Every show has multiple streamers now and also usually somebody in the center a ways back filming an hd video of it.
