They announced it at the show last night and the night before they said something about it. But, for new years Mike and the Duo will be playing at the culture room in ft lauderdale.

yeah they still play there i believe. I havent been to the wharf in a couple years it would be nice to go check it out again

Culture Room on NYE sounds like a miserable way to spend NYE.
Of course, I'd go just to see Mike, but the Culture Room is just a bad venue when it's too packed. Would be much better at Revolution or somewhere else. It's freaking South Florida... the weather is always beautiful that time of year. To spend it inside a packed Culture Room sucks. But again, I'd be there if Trey wasn't playing anywhere.

I'm just glad it is not going to be at Bamboo Room. 15 minute drive versus hour and 15 minute drive, on NYE = much better (and safer)
I have come to really enjoy the culture room. Last night's crowd was smaller than I expected and ended up being a good time. I do not think this is the end of the news thats on the way for NYE in south Florida. The Duo didnt say what time they were playing at. Which could mean that the Duo could technically be an aftershow for another act. I dont know i am just speculating, since mike will be here and they have said that him and trey had plans for a new years show. Seems a little fishy.

anyone know WHY they are playing down there instead of northeast where they would sell more tix?
im not saying i want them to play up north, but im wondering if theres some other reason , i.e. sharing the bill with someone else, like Page for instance.

well Jon, thats a given. and i guess plenty enough reason to do it... it just makes me wonder if theres some other cluster of events that will be related to the show, i.e. another band, other dates, etc
This was confirmed to me last night also; however, i was told that it would necessarily be at the culture room but there will be 3 dates in the SoFla area. Straight from the top there no rumor
so what's the rumor?... Mike and Trey?.. doing their seperate projects in the same town but different venues?.. different times?
If I was guaranteed, Mike w/ Duo and Trey and his outfit (ARGH!) then I'd start looking for plane tickets today.. when is this going to be official?.. they're takin' their sweet ASS TIME!..

I can find out tomorrow and I guess I will see what is what so I can actually make a decision as of what to do on NYE.
