This was night three of my three night run. The playing was again tight and focused, as with the night before.

I don't have much to say about the first set, as I was alternately playing with my 13 month old son and trying to get him to sleep ;). Of what I did pay decent attention to, Boogie On seemed kind of half-hearted and the Gin was fun with a decent jam, but short.

I was much more tuned in for the second set from Crosseyed on. I've been wanting to catch Crosseyed again for YEARS, and was psyched to finally get it. This was the first time I heard Steam, and I really enjoyed it's slow, slinky groove. I'm a huge fan of The Wedge, although it was a lot more fun last year as they actually stretched out with it, with Trey laying down some incredibly melodic lines as I recall. Anyway, Halfway to the Moon was new for me, too, and again I enjoyed it. If this and Steam are theirs (I believe they are?), I like where they're going these days.

Number Line I could take or leave. The jam was fun, but I was glad Loving Cup came in for the closer.

The encore troika was excellent. Makisupa seemed to be a very strange version, with all kinds of weird lyrical and melodic divergences and a hilarious ongoing nod to the "WHAT?!" from the previous night's Suzy. I figured we were leaving on a mellow note, but then First Tube dropped in to send me home with memories of bouncing around exhausted at the back of the Merriweather lawn.
