oh my god. that looks insane. all my favorite songs right there, haha.
Bayliss also took a beer bong from the balcony toward end of second set
best UM show i've ever heard, period
Jimmy's were after the 1st JaJunk and after Haunt (mindblowing)
and they went into what sounded like a New Deal jam after Feelgood. everything was so sizzling, it's hard to point to one point in the show, but Haji was as good as it gets

My parents and I left Geneseo around 12:30. Beautiful weather in the midwest. Upon arrival at my sister's apartment in Wicker Park I enjoyed both the Bulls and the Cubs victories on TV. My family dropped me off at the venue around 6:30. They went off to dinner and an evening at the Second City comedy club. I purchased the Jim Pollack print and the UMLive and secured a prime spot in the first row of seats in the balcony that they allowed seating. I was just to the left of the video camera. Joel's mom was right in front of me for the first set.
They hit the stage around 9:20. They brought the energy right out of the chute tonight. Jajunk went off on a dance beat tangent and then found its way into a heavily anticipated Divisions. This was high on my wishlist for the weekend. Huge start. Neither of the first two songs were finished and then segued into a short but rockin' Got Your Milk. N2F was mammoth. Jaco was the man at this point. Then they segued into The Haunt. This was the song I was hoping for. The jam at the end of The Haunt was big. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of the new reworking of Padgett's but it kept the energy flowing. They did the Synco/Bright Lights fakeout. I was glad they went in the Synco direction. Strong first set. Lots of big guns right off the bat. Well played. Lots of energy.
Pay Snucka kicked off the second set. They played the first and second parts of Snucka and then started up DBK. After they did the classical part of DBK they segued into Haj. Soulful vocals from BB. This worked its way into Dr. Feelgood. I'd never seen UM do that song. Then they finished up DBK. During the DBK reprise they teased the shit out of a The New Deal song from the "Gone Gone Gone" album. Triple Wide featured Kangfirmed and Aron Magner and was sans Joel and Jake. I found it to be repetitive. Kang was dressed like a girl as usual. He played only his mandola and not his fiddle. The energy level never really dropped though tonight. It was a balls to the walls Chicago UM show at one of their old haunts. Jake and Joel returned replacing the guests and then the drummer from tDB stepped out on perc with Andy as the band finished up Nothing Too Fancy. After that they immediately started up the remaining portion of Divisions. As if that wasn't enough they finished the third part of Pay the Snucka. Rock show. Lots of segues. Strong playing overall. I'm glad I didn't skip the encore for the UMLive line. It was an encore worth seeing. I hadn't caught Band on the Run since Iowa City '02. You could see the Jajunk reprise from a mile off but it still felt good. Tonight was #65 and I would definitely consider it to be one of the better Umphrey's McGee shows I've seen.

John, so glad you hung with us for the show.
lots of energy in the balcony. shoot me an email and we'll hook up for SC.
it wasn't so much the setlist madness (always helps) but the incredible energy and effort the band put forth. Never seen a Synchopated and it blew my head off, gorgeous.
what an amazing night.
Summercamp is going to be one for the books

Mike,
I had a lot of fun up in the balcony. Such a great vantage point acoustics-wise and was a perfect view of the lights. It was great to see a Chicago area UM show and not have to deal with any douchebags. I'm excited about the Zoo set in a few hours.

Looks like an amazing show guys.. glad to see that you all had a great time..
My face melted last night, I had it scoop it off the floor. Amazing Amazing show. To think I almost decided not to go. Luckily for me I scored tics for face after standing outside for 4 hours.
Can't believe some kids were buyin tix off scalpers for $80 though. When I saw that I tried to do some good community service by informing them of the free show at lincoln park zoo, and they responded "I know". Stupid kids, thier parents shouldn't be giving them money.
Rumor was swindling around that during second set the band was having a jam with kang backstage, but that was hard to believe. I knew aaron was going to be there, but kang...didn't believe it till he came out.
This show was EPIC, glad I decided to get the UMLive.
